EDGE-50 UHF Reader

The UHF RFID reader EDGE-50 AutoID has small dimensions and great performance.

UHF tag projected especially for quick and trusted vehicle identification, optimized for usage in glass, where its performance is adequate for a variety of applications.

The ACURA Global AutoID Secure System represents a true improvement in terms of cost and performance in the transition of proximity systems to long distance systems in automatic vehicle identification, using what is most modern in RFID technology.

Guaranteeing high security thanks to the protection in the tag and reader and for an encrypted security code specific to the final user of the AutoID Secure system. The proccess is simple: the tag (also called transponder or smart label) is put in the windshield or vehicle's license plate (depending on the model) to identify it, when the vehicle approaches the reader's antenna, the power from the active antenna activates the tag which transmits its ID (identification number) to the reader, which verifies the compatibility of the security code written in the tag, guaranteeing that it belongs to the user of the AutoID Secure system and not to another system which uses the same RFID system and the same kind of tag in the vehicle, disabling the possibility of opening up to vehicles without the AutoID Secure system.

Advantages

Security

By not reading tags that don't belong to the AutoID Secure system end user, like tags in tolls, malls, other buildings and companies that use RFID technology, guatantees access security, providing entrance/exit only for tag-registered vehicles. It can also be glued directly in the windshield, removing the need of opening the window and avoiding exposition of drivers and passengers.

Efficiency

Each reader has up to two access points. As it doesn't need manual control, it guarantees more agility in vehicle passage, avoiding lines in rush hours.

Compatibility

The tags are written with sequential ID (numbered), to avoid conflicts in the user's database. The interfaces are: Wiegand, ABA Track and TCP/IP. Works with most controller boards available in access control market.

Ease of use

The readers have automatic reading mode, which don't need programming. They feature compact dimensions, saving space in installation panels. They have IP66 protection grade, so thet can stay exposed to weather without extra protection.
