Through a technical cooperation agreement made in August 31st, 2009, between the Ministry of Science and Technology, the IRS and the Union States through its IRS Secretariates, formalized the start of the Identification, Tracking and Product Authentication System, named as "Brasil-ID", based in the employment of RFID technology, and others to realize, within an unique standard, the Identification, Tracking and Product Authentication in production and circulation around the country. The project is coordinated by the Wernher von Braun Advanced Research Center with the ENCAT.
Developing and installing a technological hardware and software infrastructure that ensures Identification, Tracking and Product Authentication in production and circulation around Brazil, with the usage of RFID chips, aiming to standardize, unify, interact, integrate, simply, debureaucracify and accelerate the production, logistics and merchandise fiscalization proccesses in the country.
Specific Project Objectives
- Rationalize and agilize, in government's environment, the audition and tribute, merchandise and service fiscalization procedures;
- Allow, to an enterprise level, significant reduction in costs and improved production, storage, distribution and logistic processes;
- Allow, to a government level, more control over industrialization, commercialization, merchandise circulation and services, aiming to significantly reduce tax evasion, smuggling, embezzlement, counterfeiting and theft of merchandise in the country, thus favoring honest competition;
- Create a Brasil-ID national management system (back-office) that interacts and integrates the government systems and companies that may demand or supply resources;
- Specify, analise, project, measure and develop basic national and centralized Brasil-ID transactions and data systems to be managed by the government through an entity designed as such;
- Develop system integration solutions (middleware) which will allow for an automatic deployment of the diverse information systems which will interact with the Brasil-ID systems, such as the communication inferface with Electronic Invoice systems. Aside from that, the middleware will also support standard communication for integration of all RFID readers and Communication Systems associated that will be distributed through national territory;
- Specify, project and install technological infrastructure for IRS Secretariates for integration with Brasil-ID;
- Specify, project and develop softwares specialized for integration, data creation and management and intelligent controls which ensure an effective fiscalization in fiscal points, command centers and audition in companies through interactions between structuring of states and the Brasil-ID;
- Regulate the use of RFID technology in all national territory, aiming to attend to governmental and enterprise demands;
- Develop information systems with web interface and different permission levels to ensure restricted access to different types of information;
- Acquire, develop and implement all the technological infrastructure, for complete operationalization of Brasil-ID, including servers, RFID tag readers, sensors and acters for fiscal points, among others.
