GZigLock Hotel - Wireless biometric access control system for hotels.
RWTECH, partner of ACURA Global for access control solutions, has developed a new concept: ZigLock Hotel. The current solutions are unsafe because the card is not nominal and only stops opening the door when it expires and/or during check out. The cards could be mislaid, allowing strangers to enter, as well as discomfort for guests, as those had to transport and care for the card during their stay. The loss of the card was inconvenient for guest and hotel alike. They don't allow visualization of events and configuration of locks in real time. RWTECH develops a new innovative system, aiming to perfect the specific hotel services through biometrics and wireless communication.
About the Solution
The Client: RWTECH is a dynamic company, with innovative spirit and strong technologic motivation. RW is part of a corporative group with Enterplak, specialized in outsourcing of eletroeletronic products' manufacturing, with clients from multinational companies. The sinergy in-between the group makes all the steps of the productive process contemplated, be their own products' or their clients'.
Proposed Challenge: Development of an innovative solution, aimed at attending to needs of access control in hotels.
Equipment: Biometric OEM - FAS-02 Modules and ACUPROX CARD proximity cards.
Solution: Usage of biometric modules for registering guests' biometry, speeding check in process and usage of proximity cards for contingency access.
Features / Practical improvements: Installation and system maintenance: The installation of Access Points is extremely simple, for not needing cables to communicate. This is because all points don't use wires (Zigbee) with the Reception Unit. Great scalability is also provided by the system, as the increase in number of Access Points won't bring more consequences to the system and hotel's infrastructure.
Pre check in / Check in: Pre check in: previous guest registration, apartment reserves and registration data of FNRH through the internet. Time reduction for check in, as the user just needs to collect fingerprints and the FNRH signature. In the next stays, the registry + user fingerprints are already present in the System UR. The Reception Unit (UR) sends the guest's fingerprint to the Access Points, containing also possible restrictions of date and time. Access Point battery level monitoring. The UR can have a thermal printer integrated, to provide guests the identification of the intended room and other information. The PAs also have proximity card readers, for access contingency.
Room entry / Stay: The Access Control through fingerprints dismisses the use of cards and passwords, which can be lost / mislaid, guaranteeing practicity and security to the guests and to the hotel. The access events to apartments and safe openings (date, time and guest information) are automatically sent to the Reception Unit (UR) and seen in real time, in the hotel software or via web server available through UR. The Access Points are autonomous and don't need communication with UR to free / lock access. They also have a fake fingerprint detection system.
Check out: By pressing a key in the apartment's lock, the check out is sped up, as the device tells the UR about the guest's wish. During check out, UR sends the command that erases the fingerprint from permitted access places.
Gains / Benefits: Greater agility in the check in / check out process thanks to the fake fingerprint detection system.
