Sabesp makes conference makes of hydrometers with speed and security

One of the solutions implemented by Global ACURA allows identifying hydrometers, managing inventory and recycling materials.

Sabesp is responsible for water supply, sewage collection and treatment of 364 municipalities in the state of São Paulo. 28.2 million people are supplied with water and 22.1 million people with sewage, and therefore is considered one of the largest sanitation companies in the world in population served. In partnership with private companies, also operates in the municipalities, Mogi Mirim, Castilho, Andradina and Mairinque, and partnerships with state sanitation utilities in the states of Alagoas and Espirito Santo.

Sabesp still performs consulting services in Panama and Honduras. In addition to basic sanitation services, Sabesp is authorized to operate in drainage, street cleaning, solid waste management and energy markets. About the Solution

The Client: Sabesp is responsible for water supply, sewage collection and treatment of 364 municipalities in the state of São Paulo, is considered one of the largest sanitation companies in the world in population served.

Proposed Challenge: Issues in the logistics process as control and low per one meter (processing orders, receiving, loading and recovery of meters), difficulty in planning involving deadlines and request for inspection of the manufacturer, flaws in exchange for lack of political control and exercise the warranty policy. Besides the impact on the management of the meters, there was accumulation of physical documentation and liability losses.

Equipment: M6 UHF Reader, UHF Monostatic Compact Antenna, 300U UHF Data Collector.

Solution: Creating an Integrated Management System Meters (GIM) of. Applying RFID tags on water meters and water meter readers to identify inside the boxes. Use handheld readers to streamline the verification process inventory and conference items inside the boxes.

Functioning: The tag is applied to the hydrometer and come in the unity of Sabesp, a check is made with the 300U Handheld Reader, which identifies the items inside the boxes, thus speeding the process of received material conference. With the conference done, it can process orders from receiving, loading and recovery of meters that can be selected by several factors, such as manufacturer, capacity, type of raw material, flow, etc.

Features / Practical improvements: The use of the Integrated Management System Meters (GIM) avoids human errors as the control and low per lot, plus miscarriages and warranty (controls and manual actions), and streamlines the logistics process.

Gains / Benefits: Reducing of errors in receiving and logistics, and guaranteed safety and speed in the conference and low assertiveness in inspections and service delivery. The environment will also benefit since there will be assertive separated scraps, allowing them to be reused.
