Examples of EDGE-50 AutoID V2 reader applications

Example #1 Without Personal Tag associated

Reader + Access Software + Manual access barrier activation

Description:
The external Access Control Software receives read data from reader’s TCP/IP port and displays. Then, the security staff decides to open or not open the access barrier (automatic gate in the diagram below) using a simple switch connected to the reader's digital inputs.

Example #1 With Personal Tag associated

Reader + Access Software + Manual access barrier activation

Description:
After identifying a Vehicle Tag (marked as associated), the reader starts to search for a Personal Tag authorized for that vehicle. The reader can send the tags IDs in a successful authentication or a custom data in case of failure. An external Access Control system is also required to display read data to the security staff who decides to open or not the barrier.

Example #2 Without Personal Tag associated

Reader + Access software + Server access barrier activation

Description:
The external Access Control Software receives read data from reader’s TCP/IP port, check the database and then activates access barrier if it is a valid ID, using TCP/IP commands to the reader, with no need of human interaction.

Example #3 Without Personal Tag associated

Reader + Controller + Automatic access barrier activation

Description:
An external Access Controller board receives the read data from Wiegand, Abatrack or RS-232 reader’s ports, checks in the internal memory and activates the access barrier through its own output if it is a valid tag. The reader will read only when a vehicle is detected by the sensor connected to its digital inputs.

Example #3 With Personal Tag associated

Reader + Controller + Automatic access barrier activation

Description:
After identifying a Vehicle Tag (marked as associated), the reader starts to search for a Personal Tag authorized for that vehicle. If both are correct detected, the reader send the Vehicle ID through Wiegand, Abatrack or RS-232 ports. The external Access Controller board receives the read data, checks in the internal memory and activates the access barrier through its own output if it is a valid tag.

Minimal reader configuration for this example:

Example #4 Without Personal Tag associated

Reader + Controller + Reading feedback + Automatic access barrier activation

Description:
An external Access Controller board receives the read data from Wiegand, Abatrack or RS-232 reader’s ports, checks in the internal memory and activates the access barrier through its own output if it is a valid tag. In each successful read the reader's relay is activated during the preconfigured time.
